Real salary ranges from placements across Accra, what drives the difference, and why underpaying costs more than it saves.

The most common question we get from families is not about vetting. It is "what should I be paying?" — usually asked quietly, because nobody wants to find out they have been getting it wrong.
Here are the ranges we actually place at in Accra.

Be honest with yourself about whether you are pricing the work or pricing the person's ability to negotiate. Some of the most experienced caregivers we meet are the worst at asking, because they have spent fifteen years being told to be grateful for the job.
A nanny paid below the market rate leaves. Usually in month five, usually without notice, usually for GH₵ 200 more somewhere else. You then pay a second placement fee, spend three weeks interviewing, and your child loses the person they had settled with.
The gap you saved is smaller than the cost of that, every time.
